AGE REQUIREMENT FOR ADMISSION

  • Applicants must be at least 16 years of age and be in possession of a high school or college diploma, or the equivalent.
  • Applications for those under the age of 18 must be co-signed by a parent or legal guardian.

ENGLISH PROFICIENCY

Applicants enrolling in AIGS courses are required to have good English communication.

GEMOLOGICAL PROFICIENCY

Applicants do not need to have experience in gems or jewelry for any AIGS courses, with the exception of Synthetic and Treated Gem Identification course (E301).

In order to be considered for entry into (E301), students are expected to have completed Gem Identification (E102) at AIGS or an equivalent course at another recognized gemological education provider.

ENROLMENT POLICIES AND PROCEDURE

The following documents are required to complete your enrollment.

Thai Resident Students

  • A copy of Thai Identity Card (1 copy with signature)
  • Recent color photo not older than six months (passport size: 1.5” x 2.0″). Photo must have a white background, the individual must look straight ahead, and the face must be ¾ size of the photo area. (1 pc.)

International Students

A: For applicants who does not require Education Visa, please email us these following documents

  • Copy of the first page of your passport.
  • Recent color photos not older than six months (passport size: 1.5” x 2.0″). Photo must have a white background, the individual must look straight ahead, and the face must be ¾ size of the photo area. (1 pc.)

B: For applicants who require an Education Visa A 5,000 baht non-refundable, visa processing fee applies.

   **Applicant, whose visa application is unsuccessful, will be refunded the full course fee (minus bank charges) but the visa processing fee of 5,000 baht is non-refundable.

VISA REQUIREMENTS

It is the responsibility of international students to research your specific Thailand visa requirements prior to arrival, including obtaining of all necessary visas from Thai embassy and consulates in your home country.

International students who enroll in the following courses have to request a Non-Immigrant Student “ED” Visa at Thai Embassy and consulate in your country

  • The Accredited Gemologist program (A.G) 6 months course
  • (E102) Gem Identification 3 months course
  • (E301) Synthetic & Treated Gem Identification 1 month course
  • (E201) Colored Stone Grading & Pricing 1 month course
  • (E103) Diamond Grading & Pricing 1 month course
  • (501) Jewelry Design 2.5 months course

How to Apply for Education Visa

International students who need an Education Visa should make your visa arrangement at least 2 ½ months before the class begins.

Step 1

Prepare all documents below:
1.1 AIGS enrollment application form. (when you register on AIGS website)
1.2 Copy of your passport (all pages that have been used) *and sign your name on every page.
1.3 High school/college/university diploma that shows the graduation date.
**It must be in English or accompanied by an approved English Translation with your signature on every page.
1.4 Criminal record (For Africa or Middle East applicants)
1.5 6 photos 2.5” x 3”
1.6 Personal history check form (Request from AIGS)
1.7 Purpose of attending the course (Request from AIGS)

Step 2

Scan and email above documents to registrar@aigsthailand.com

After your documents have been checked, we will inform you to send the original signed documents to us by FedEx / DHL to address below:

Step 3

AIGS will submit your documents to Ministry of Education in Thailand. It normally takes 2-3 weeks to get approve/letter from the Ministry.

Step 4

Once we get the approval letter from Ministry of Education, we will DHL or FedEx it to you together with few other official documents. Please make sure your address in the registration form is current and up to date to receive the documents.

Step 5

When you receive the documents and the approval letter (Issued by Thailand Ministry of Education), please take these documents to the Thai Embassy in your country to apply for Education visa.
Visa processing time can vary depending in different countries.
International Students must have valid student visas allowing you to attend AIGS to complete the program. The entry visa must be obtained prior to entering Thailand. For more information please contact: registrar@aigsthailand.com

Payments

Full payment of the tuition fee must be paid 90 days before the class begins.
It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that these payments are made on time. Seating is limited and is offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.

RE-ENTRY PERMITS

In case your visa expires before the class ends. Your visa will be annulled upon exiting the country. So you will have to purchase a re-entry permit from the immigration office of any of Thailand's 76 provinces:

  • One Time Use Re-entry Visa = 1,000 Baht
  • Multiple Use Re-entry Visa = 3,800 Baht

REFUND POLICY

If cancellation is made
2 months prior to the course starting date, 80 % of course fee will be refunded.
1 month prior to the course starting date, 50% of course fee will be refunded.
2 weeks or less before the course starting date, no refund.
All changes to proposed course attendance must be made at least 30 days before the class begins.
